Bio

Joshua Talcovitz is a commercial litigator and trusted legal advisor at Kurkin Forehand Brandes, bringing over a decade of experience to his clients. He provides both litigation and general counsel services to businesses, with a special focus on automobile dealerships and other companies operating in tightly regulated industries. Joshua assists clients in navigating complex regulatory landscapes, ensuring compliance, handling lawsuits and other disputes, as well as addressing day-to-day legal matters. He regularly represents his clients in State and Federal Court, as well as appellate and arbitration proceedings.

In addition to his work with automobile dealerships, Joshua has extensive experience representing business entities, professionals, and private individuals in a broad range of litigation matters across Florida, New York, and New Jersey. His practice in that area includes cases involving professional negligence, breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, conspiracy, and class actions, such as his notable role as part of the defense team for one of the named parties in the Champlain Towers Collapse Class Action Litigation.

Before joining Kurkin Forehand Brandes, Joshua was a partner at a boutique commercial litigation firm in Miami, where he represented businesses and professionals in state and federal courts. Earlier in his career, he practiced in New York, beginning as a prosecutor with the Bronx County District Attorney’s Office. There, he gained invaluable courtroom experience, trying numerous cases to verdict in matters ranging from larceny to attempted murder.

Joshua later transitioned to civil litigation at a New York City firm in the financial district, where he handled depositions, appeared in courts throughout New York and New Jersey, and argued appeals before the Appellate Division of the New York State Supreme Court.

A graduate cum laude of Western New England University School of Law in 2014, Joshua was a competitor on the American Association for Justice Trial Advocacy team, served as the school president of the American Bar Association, and earned multiple awards for his skills in trial advocacy, evidence, criminal procedure, and more.
