Bio

Joshua Talcovitz is a commercial litigator with a significant portion of his practice at Kurkin Forehand Brandes dedicated to the representation of automotive dealerships in State and Federal Court, as well as arbitration.  Joshua also has extensive experience representing business entities, professionals and private individuals in various litigation matters throughout the states of Florida, New York and New Jersey.

Prior to joining Kurkin Forehand Brandes, Joshua was a partner at a prominent boutique commercial litigation firm in Miami.   There, he represented professionals and business entities in state and federal court against various claims such as professional negligence, breach of fiduciary duty, fraud and conspiracy.  In addition, Joshua’s experience includes handling class action matters, such as his participation in the representation of one of the named defendants in the Champlain Towers Collapse Class Action Litigation.

Prior to moving to South Florida, Joshua practiced for several years in New York.  He began his legal career as a prosecutor in New York City at the Bronx County District Attorney’s office, where he prosecuted a wide range of criminal matters ranging from larceny to attempted murder.  From his time as a prosecutor Joshua gained invaluable courtroom experience and has tried numerous cases to verdict.  Thereafter, he was an associate at a civil litigation firm located in New York City’s financial district where he conducted countless depositions, regularly appeared in court throughout New York and New Jersey and argued appeals before the Appellate Division of the New York State Supreme Court.

Joshua graduated cum laude from Western New England University School of Law in 2014 where he was a competitor on the American Association for Justice Trial Advocacy team, the school president of the American Bar Association and received numerous awards in the areas of trial advocacy, evidence, criminal procedure, criminal pre-trial practice and immigration.
